Hello teachers, parents and students! This weeks blog will review the importance of Copyright, Fair Use and Plagiarism all of which are necessary to understand when you are tasked with writing an essay, paper, story or blog. Because there are so many images and information readily available on the web you may think you are able to use all that is there, but in reality, there are rules regarding the right to use the information found. The dictionary states that Copyright is "the exclusive legal right, given to an originator or an assignee to print, publish, perform, film, or record literary, artistic, or musical material, and to authorize others to do the same." This means that if you use any image or print that is copyrighted you will need to have permission to post the original authors information.
